Hello Author!

Thank you so much for spending time to create something for me! I’m excited to see what you come up with! First off, this letter doesn’t cover everything that I like, but rather focuses on broad themes. Also, please don’t feel pressured to fit your creation to every little thing included – optional details are optional, of course!

For transparency, I’ve historically been a (very) late commenter on exchange fics. If I don’t leave kudos/comments right away, it’s not you, it’s most definitely me. I promise a comment is coming, it might just take me awhile. (I’ve actually gotten a lot better over the last few years, but I’m afraid of deleting this paragraph and jinxing myself).

Also, apologies for not having this letter ready on time this year (especially since I ended up using 90% of my letter from last year). Thank you for your patience!

Things I'm Not Into (DNWs)

  • Rape/Non-con (Recovery, okay)
  • PWP/Explicit Sex (Fade-to-black and implied sex are fine [e.g., nothing more than you’d see in most R-rated movies])
  • Incest
  • Descriptions of Graphic Violence
  • Descriptions of Asphyxiation/Choking/Strangulation/Graphic Neck Injuries
  • Unhappy Endings/Hopeless Endings (Angst is fine, though)
  • Non-Canonical Named Character Death (Characters who are dead in canon are fair game; random henchmen or OCs needed for casefic, etc. are fine)
  • Apocalypse/Dystopia AUs

Things I'm Into (Likes)

Below are a few tropes/themes/etc. that I enjoy that can be applied to any fandom. In general, I’m not super prescriptive with my prompts, but rather dig into broad themes that I enjoy reading and try to give you some sense of “why” I like them. I don’t elaborate on every single like I listed, but please be assured that if I put on the list I do, in fact, like it!

I’ve made a lot of changes to the format of this section compared to my previous letters (and I'm not sure I like it, yet), so please feel free to look at previous letters.

THEMES
Friendship/Deep Platonic RelationshipsHealthy CommunicationTrust
Relationship Negotiation (romantic or platonic)Learning to be VulnerableFacing Insecurities
DomesticityRedemptionRecoveryNavigating Complex Power Dynamics

Gen fics are my jam. I’m always a sucker for platonic cuddling, hair ruffling, and just people being protective/supportive of each other. I love characters that feel comfortable sharing their vulnerabilities and trusting each other.

I also really love characters having to define and establish their relationships (both platonic and romantic), especially when they have to navigate an inherent uneven power dynamic (e.g., monetary differences, class differences, other complex relationships, etc.). I love, love reading about characters having to work at learning how to understand each other’s perspective and negotiation how to be together. I love when characters have to choose to love each other, regardless of everything else that might be making it more complicated.

Finally, one of my favorite themes of all time is anything that focuses on trust and/or the building of trust between two (or more) characters. People accepting the unconditional love and trust of another person and realizing it’s real is one of my favorite things. A character explicitly or implicitly declaring their trust in someone will make me squee every single time.

TROPES
Found Family/Families of ChoiceEmotional Hurt/ComfortFluffProtective/Supportive Friends
Touch-StarvedRomantic ComedyCasual Platonic IntimacyExpressions of Trust

Families of choice/found families is pretty much my favorite trope of all time. People choosing to be each other’s families and just platonically loving each other is my favorite thing in the entire world. Hair ruffling and forehead kisses are like my ultimate weakness. There’s something about platonic casual affection that gets me every time.

My love of emotional hurt/comfort goes hand-in-hand with my love of fics exploring the themes of healthy communication, trust, and relationship negotiation. I love the intimacy of emotional hurt/comfort. Emotional hurt/comfort has always hit me in the feels a lot stronger than physical whump hurt/comfort. I think this is because it forces characters to trust and be vulnerable with each other. I love being able to read characters bare their entire selves on the way to a resolution.

FORMATS
Epistolary ElementsEpigraphsSocial Media Elements
Multi-Media ElementsVignettes/DrabblesN Things

I love traditional prose, but I wanted to give you the option to incorporate other elements, if you'd like! I always appreciate when a non-traditional element is incorporated, and I've listed a few examples above. (I generally prefer if these are incorporated with a mix of prose, rather than being the entire fic). I also love when characters’ lives feel lived in and that readers are only getting to see a piece of it, like in a series of vignettes/drabbles or N Things.

I know that some of these format additions can be more difficult to incorporate, so please do not feel pressure to do so!

ALTERNATE UNIVERSES
Famous/Not FamousFae/FairieSoulmates (romantic or platonic)
Urban FantasyCoffee ShopCanon Divergence

If you're not into AUs, that's totally fine, since I also love exploring the relationships and unanswered questions left in the canon worlds of my requested fandoms! If you're into AU's, I wanted to give a few examples of ones that I usually vibe with!

Whether you play it straight or add a twist,I’ve listed a few of my favorite AUs above (but there are probably a bunch that are missing). Any alternate universe which incorporates my liked themes (e.g., trust, relationship negotiation, uneven power dynamics, etc.) is always a win! In general, I tend to find myself drawn to concept (and character) driven fic, so an AU is always a great way to explore that!

Fandom Specific

I’m very easy to please, so if you touch on any of the general likes above, I’ll be delighted! I’ve also added specific information below for each of the fandoms I've requested (in alphabetical order). I’m generally not very prescriptive with my prompts, rather preferring to give you broad thematic elements and character relationships to work with.

Dance Academy (TV 2010)
CharactersAny (Kat Karamakov, Sammy Lieberman, Christian Reed, and Tara Webster)
AvailabilityYouTube (in most geographies)
Other NotesI’ve also seen the movie, but feel free to pick and choose how much of that is canon.

I originally watched Dance Academy when it was on Netflix in the early-to-mid 2010s, and somehow it always ends up in my YouTube recommended videos! I’m less interested in the complicated web of romantic entanglements but would prefer something about the found family/friendship aspects of the show. Some of my favorite moments of the show are when Christian tells Kat that the academy is their family at the end of the first season, how the show handles Sammy’s death, and how many characters spend school breaks together, whether it be Christian and Sammy or multiple people visiting Tara at her family’s farm. (I also think that Sammy’s crush on Christian is pretty well-portrayed for a show that came out in 2010).

I also really love the concept of the third season, where they’re each other’s best friends, and the only people who understand what they’re going through, but they’re also in direct competition with each other for spots in the Company. I think there are just some really interesting platonic relationship dynamics in the show!

(For the record, my favorite dances of the entire show are Sammy’s tribute dance at the end of the second season and the “thank you” dance at the end of the third season).

Mighty Ducks (Movies)
CharactersAdam Banks
AvailabilityDisney+
Other Notes I’ve watched the Gamechangers reboot, but feel free to pick/choose how much of it is canon.

The Mighty Ducks is one of my favorite guilty pleasure movie series and my favorite character is (and always has been) Adam Banks. I’d love to explore his character more, especially regarding the class/wealth differences with him and the other Mighty Ducks. The movies touch on it, but they don’t really ever explore the fact wealth disparity between him and the other Ducks (and the fact that he also goes to another school, pre D3).

I’ve specifically only request Adam because I want you to have freedom to explore his characters and relationships with any of the other requested characters. I’d be happy if you explore his friendship all the OG Ducks during the first movie, if you dig into his experiences on Varsity at Eden Hall in D3, or anything in between! I’d really just love any exploration of Adam’s experiences with the rest of his teammates.

I genuinely just love this franchise and Adam’s character, so I’d be happy with anything you come up with!

Gossip Girl (TV 2021)
CharactersMax Wolfe
AvailabilityMax
Other NotesI’ve watched most (?) of the original series, but it’s been awhile!

I think I watched the Gossip Girl reboot just after Yuletide nominations closed last year, and my first thought was “shoot, that would have made a good nomination,” mostly because I think there are a lot of places that fic could expand upon holes in the show

I absolutely love Max’s character and all of his relationships with the other characters in the show. I specifically only chose Max has the required character to give you a lot of freedom to write what interests you – I’d be happy with a solo character study of him and his family, the relationship negotiation of him with Audrey and Aki, or exploring his friendship with Luna!

I think the best parts of the reboot were when it was stuck wrestling with the intersectionality of making their cast more diverse than the original (I think of Luna and Max’s conversation about why Aki and Audrey are so nervous to be seen as a couple with him or Monet’s fight with her mother about privilege as good examples of this) , so if you’d like to include some of those themes in the fic, I’d be happy with that as well!

I’d really just love any exploration of Adam’s experiences with the rest of his teammates.

Red White & Royal Blue (2023)
CharactersAlex Claremont-Diaz and Henry Hanover-Stuart Fox
AvailabilityAmazon Prime
Other NotesI’m generally familiar with the novel.

I first watched this Red, White, & Royal Blue right before I caught COVID, and I ended up watching/sleeping through it three or four more times while sick since it was so easily accessible in the “Watch Again” section. I’ve always, always loved a campy romcom and this was no exception. I’d really like to explore more about Henry and Alex’s relationship and how they deal with being public figures. The movie mentions how the two of them were always thinking about their place in history and the conflict of interests within their relationship, so I’d love to see a fic explore that angle. I also love an established relationship fic and would love anything post-movie about them building their lives together.

I'm also happy if you'd like to add any other characters from the tagset!

If you choose to go the AU-route for this fandom, I think I’d prefer if Henry was still a Prince/royalty of some sort, since I think digging into all the complications that come from his position is one of the most interesting facets of his character!

She-Hulk - Rainbow Rowell (Comics)
CharactersJennifer Walters | She-Hulk and Jonathan Hart | Jack of Hearts
AvailabilityMarvel Unlimited (or your local comic book shop)
Other NotesI’m planning to read Rowell’s new Sensational She-Hulk run.

I fell back into comics this year and Rowell’s She-Hulk run is one of my current favorites! Jack of Hearts is quickly working his way into being one of my favorite comic book characters! I absolutely love the concept of a comic that’s basically a romcom, except they happen to have superpowers.

I love Jen and Jack’s relationship in the comics and would love of fic about how they go about navigating it with their complex lives and conflicting abilities. I also love how the comic portrays the domestic aspects of their lives: how they live together and share dinners, clothes, and the apartment. I’d also love to see anything that explored their insecurities or how others react to their relationship. I love their banter and how they seem to genuinely respect each other and enjoy each other’s company. Anything exploring their relationship would be a win!

Below are a few themes/tropes that I like that can be applied to any fandom. In general, I’m not super prescriptive with my prompts, but rather I try to dig into what and why I love certain things. (Overarching themes are in bold, with sub-themes in italics).

Platonic Relationships – I love friendship. Gen fics are my jam. I’m always a sucker for platonic cuddling, hair ruffling, and just people being protective/supportive of each other. Hair ruffling and forehead kisses are like my ultimate weakness. There’s something about platonic casual affection that gets me every time. I also love friends feeling comfortable sharing their vulnerabilities and trusting each other.

Families of Choice/Found Family – This is pretty much my favorite trope of all time. People choosing to be each other’s families and just platonically loving each other is my favorite thing in the entire world.

Protective/Supportive Friends – I love friends defending each other and supporting each other no matter what. Characters finding, building, and accepting unconditional friendship is wonderful (especially if it’s something they’re not used to).

Casual Affection – I absolutely adore casual affection between characters in whatever form that takes! From leaning on someone’s shoulders, hair pets/ruffles, or just being close to another person, I adore when characters are comfortable enough to show casual affection!

Relationship Negotiation – I really love characters having to figure out their relationships (both platonic and romantic), especially when they have to navigate an inherent uneven power dynamic (e.g., monetary differences, class differences, other complex relationships, etc.). I just really love characters talking to each other and being vulnerable with each other about who they are, their insecurities, and choosing to make the relationship work, regardless of everything else.

Trust – I love fics that focus on the trust and building of trust between two (or more) characters. People accepting the unconditional love and trust of another person and realizing it’s real is one of my favorite things. A character explicitly or implicitly declaring their trust in someone will make me squee every single time.

Communication – People talking out their issues and trusting each other with their entire being, just gives me the all the feels. I love, love reading about characters learning how to understand each other. I especially love when people have to deal with their (and each other’s) insecurities and have to be vulnerable to each other. This also includes the misunderstandings trope, especially if/when the characters eventually work it out in the end!

Emotional Hurt/Comfort – This goes hand-in-hand with my love of fics exploring healthy communication, trust, and relationship negotiation.

Opt-Ins/Additional Info

Welcome to the section that is everything that didn’t fit somewhere else – feel free to skip if unhelpful!

I’m happy to receive art, multimedia fics, poetry/drabbles, or other non-traditional transformative works! I absolutely love seeing an interesting/different/unusual take on fanworks!

Also, the real reason for the creation of this section: AUs! I always love a fun alternate universe, whether you play it straight or add a twist. I'd be happy with a canon-universe story for all my requests, but if you want to go the AU-route, an incomplete list of AUs that I’m always excited to read include: famous/not famous, fae/fairies, urban fantasy, coffee shop, breakfast club, and soulmates (platonic, romantic, or something else entirely)! Finally, I tend to find myself drawn to concept- and character-driven fic.

Fandom Specific

I’m very easy to please, so if you touch on any of the general likes above, I’ll be delighted! I’ve also added specific information below for each of the fandoms I requested (in alphabetical order). Again, I’m generally not very specific with my prompts, rather preferring to give you broad thematic elements to work with.

(You might notice three big themes across all my fandom requests this year: explorations of fame, intergenerational friendships, and found family. Honestly, feel free to take any one of those themes and run with it.)

Marry Me (2022)
CharactersCharlie Gilbert, Kat Valdez, and Lou Gilbert
AvailabilityAmazon Prime
Other NotesN/A

I’ve always been a sucker for a good romantic comedy and one with the famous/not famous trope (along with enough chemistry between the leads to sell it) was right up my alley! I watched this movie twice (almost three times) this year and loved it during both viewings. I’d love to read more about relationship negotiation between Charlie and Kat, especially dealing with their insecurities and the complications that come with dating someone famous. I’d also love to read more about Charlie, Kat, and Lou becoming and being a family and making everything work (especially with Kat’s career/fame).

McDonald & Dodds (TV)
CharactersDodds and Lauren McDonald
AvailabilityBritBox
Other NotesN/A

McDonald & Dodds is a show that always makes my Yuletide shortlist, but somehow falls off by the time sign-ups roll around, but that changes this year! I grew up watching British police procedurals with my mom and this is one of my recent favorites. I absolutely love the “odd couple” partnership between McDonald & Dodds. Not only that, but I adore how they genuinely start to understand each other and share more about their lives. As the seasons progress, they’re becoming friends outside of work, which is so much fun. (One of my favorite bits in the show is the recurring conversations about McDonald’s boyfriend). I’d love to read anything about the two of them bonding or spending time together outside of cases.

Only Murders in the Building (TV)
CharactersCharles Haden Savage, Mabel Mora, and Oliver Putnam
AvailabilityHulu
Other NotesI haven’t finished season 2, yet (but will update this letter when/if I do).

Continuing our theme of intergenerational friendships (and, murder, I guess), I had so much fun watching Only Murders in the Building. I love the trio of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel. Charles and Oliver’s friendship is a lot of fun, but I adore how Mabel plays off of their absurdity. For me, it’s really all three of them that make the show work! It feels like all three of them have felt alone or misunderstood in their pre-show lives, and the three of them coming together add so much vibrancy and understanding to each other’s lives. I’d love to see that further explored! Really though, I’d love to read anything with the three of them hanging out, learning from each other, and becoming a found family.

Ten Percent (TV)
CharactersCharlotte Nightingale, Luke Nightingale, and Misha Virani
AvailabilityHulu
Other NotesI haven’t seen any of the original French version.

I was initially interested in watching Ten Percent because I thought it would be an interesting exploration fame from a different perspective, but I ended up really liking the relationship between Charlotte, Luke, and Misha. (In fact, I think my favorite scene in the entire show is when Charlotte talks with Misha and reassures her that Jonathan’s mistakes were not her fault and that she’s not going to take it out on her). I’d love to see the three of them bonding and becoming closer, especially Charlotte and Luke welcoming her into the family. I think Luke and Misha developing a sibling relationship would be a lot of fun, and I love the idea of them becoming a family of choice!

ヒロインたるもの! | Heroine Tarumono! | Heroines Run the Show (Anime)
CharactersShibasaki Aizou, Someya Yuujirou, and Suzumi Hiyori
AvailabilityCrunchyroll
Other NotesI’ve never seen any of the related content (e.g., HoneyWorks music videos, other Confession Executive Committee media, etc.)

I haven’t really watched a lot of anime in the last couple of years, but I think this show was specifically made to cater to my interests. I love the friendship between Aizo, Yuuji, and Hiyori, especially how the three start to understand each other as the show goes on. Aizo and Yuuji start realizing Hiyori’s worth and what she brings to the table, while Hiyori starts to understand the ups and downs of fame and that being an “idol” can be meaningful. I really enjoyed the shows explorations of parasocial relationships and fame, especially when Aizo and Yuuji “code switch” between their “real” selves and their “idol” personas. I would love to read anything with the three of them becoming closer friends, bonding, and learning to be vulnerable with each other. I’d also love to read anything with protective and supportive friends, especially the boys standing up for Hiyori!

The Mighty Ducks (Movies)

Mighty Ducks is one of those nostalgia fandoms that I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of, which is a bit weird, considering I’m a bit too young to have enjoyed its original theatrical release. (I think it was just shown a lot on reruns on cable TV).

My favorite character is Adam (which, yeah, might be a vanilla choice), but he’s been my favorite since childhood and that’s not changing anytime soon. I’d love to see a fic that explores the class differences between Adam and the original ducks or his time at on Varsity at Eden Hall. I’d be happy with any fic in which Adam has to navigate his friendships with the Ducks!

The other characters I requested are Ken, Portman, and Fulton because I really loved the friendship they develop in the second movie (and which is not really seen again!). If you couldn’t tell by the rest of my letter, I really enjoy different people coming together and figuring out how to be friends (or a found family!)

I’m also a big fan of post-canon fics (especially now that we’ve gotten to see a few of the OG Ducks in Gamechangers).

(I know this section is slightly shorter than the Gamechangers section, but that’s not an indicator of enthusiasm for the original series. It’s just that I had requested Gamechangers for a previous exchange and already had something written up!).

Mighty Ducks: Gamechangers (TV)

This show marks the first time in my lifetime that we’ve gotten new canon Mighty Ducks material. I really love this show for what is was! I wasn’t expecting it to be “cinema” or anything, but as far as a modern follow-up series goes, I think it does a pretty good job at capturing what made the original trilogy good and updating it for a 2021 audience. I actually really love the twist that the Ducks are now the antagonist team!

My favorite character in Gamechangers was Logan, and I wish the series had more time to explore his character! We get to see his dad show up to the hockey moms’ meeting, know about his pancake flipping prowess, and his lack of hockey-prowess, but I would have loved to see the show explore his relationships to the Don’t Bothers and experience moving to a new place. (It’s a pity that Logan wasn’t invited in the sleepover episode, and he wasn’t the only one who missed out. If you just want to write the Don’t Brother’s being friends, I’m all for that!)

The relationship we did get to see explored was between the girls! I love the episode where Maya and Lauren become closer friends and have to navigate their old friend group(s), along with their new friends on the Don’t Bothers. (And LARPing seems like it would be a great hockey-bonding exercise!) The “girls night” moments during the ninth episode are also a lot of fun! The original trilogy never really got to explore relationships between the girls on the team, so I really appreciate that this show took that direction. I’d love to read fic that explores their friendship more or their experiences in a relatively male-dominated sport.

As far as my favorite episode goes, I’d be remiss to say anything but the tenth episode—the show really goes “full Mighty Ducks” during the finale. I think that’s where the heart of the show really comes out. It’s a lot of fun to see the show lean into the same tropes that the movies did!

Hello Chocolatier!

Thank you so much for spending time to create something for me! I’m excited to see what you come up with! First off, this letter doesn’t cover everything that I like, but rather focuses on broad themes. Also, please don’t feel pressured to fit your creation to every little thing included – optional details are optional, of course!

For transparency, I’ve historically been a serial (very) late commenter on exchange fics. If I don’t leave kudos/comments right away, it’s not you, it’s most definitely me. I promise a comment is coming, it might just take me awhile. (For Chocobox 2022, in particular, I know reveals are on a Monday, and it’s likely I won’t get to my gift until the weekend, but I’m going to try see it within the anon period!)

(Note: Most of this letter was copied from previous exchanges I’ve participated in. After throwing this letter together for last year’s chocobox, I said I’d be more on top of it this year, but alas, here I am writing it at the last minute).

Things I'm Not Into (DNWs)

- Rape/Non-con
- PWP/Explicit Sex
- Incest
- Descriptions of Graphic Violence
- Asphyxiation/Choking/Strangulation
- Unhappy Endings/Hopeless Endings (Angst is fine, though)
- Non-Canonical Named Character Death (Characters who are dead in canon are fair game; random henchmen or OCs needed for casefic, etc. are fine).
- Apocalypse/Zombie AUs

Encanto
MediumFic or Art
Relationships• Camilo Madrigal & Mirabel Madrigal
• Casita and Mirabel Madrigal
• Casita & Madrigal Family
AvailabilityDisney+

The recency bias is strong with this one. I didn’t really know what to expect going into this movie and I absolutely adored it! I really love the focus on an intergenerational family and the (sort of) “magic realism” of the universe. I’m also a really, really big fan of the “ordinary person in an extraordinary group” trope (see like half the other fandoms on this list), so I really love that the movie didn’t explicitly give Mirabel a magic gift, even at the end of the movie. I also love that the casita is a character too and how the family/Mirabel interact with the house. I think there’s a lot of interesting concepts that could be dug into with the Madrigal’s relationship with their home (and, thus, with each other). I’ve also selected Camilo and Mirabel because they’re so close in age that they must have grown up with each other in the nursery (and everything must have changed when he got a gift and she didn’t). Plus, shapeshifting shenanigans are always fun!

Art: Both the character designs and world of Encanto are just visually stunning and gorgeous. I really love how the movie uses color! I don’t have any specific art prompts because I think anything inspired by the movie would be great!

Final Fantasy XV
MediumFic or Art
Relationships• Gladiolus Amicitia & Ignis Scientia & Noctis Lucis Caelum & Prompto Argentum
• Ignis Scientia & Prompto Argentum
• Noctis Lucis Caelum & Prompto Argentum
• Gladiolus Amicitia & Prompto Argentum
AvailabilityPlaystation4, Xbox One, etc. Playthroughs on Youtube.

General: This was a weird section to write last year and still is: I’ve never played FFXV. I never plan on playing FFXV. That being said, FFXV has been living rent free in my head for over two years. It’s the topic of the only long-fic I may ever write, and Prompto Argentum is probably in my top 5 favorite characters of all time. Based on watching parts of playthroughs, reading fic, and watching the prequel anime, I’ve fallen into this fandom.

I’d love to see something exploring the relationship between all the chocobros, especially how Prompto integrates himself into the established trio of Gladio, Noctis, and Ignis (especially considering his “non-royal” upbringing, including financial and class differences). If you’d like to specific platonic pairing of the Prompto and one of the trio, I’d also love to see something about how Prompto gains each individual’s trust coming in as an “outsider” (with the assumption that others have tried to get close to Noctis with less honorable intentions). I prefer fics to be set pre-video game canon (or AUs), since I don’t have a ton of knowledge of the video game specifics (and it’s always a bit bittersweet to think about the ending).

Art: I’d love anything with the four main chocobros, particularly Prompto. Whether you want to draw them in “high-fashion” outfits or keep the in-game ones, anything with them interacting is fun. I really like their character designs, but my main focus is how they interact with each other. I’m also happy with an AU and getting to see them in different settings!

Haikyuu!!
MediumFic or Art
Relationships• Hinata Shouyou & Kageyama Tobio & Tsukishima Kei & Yachi Hitoka & Yamaguchi Tadashi
• Hinata Shouyou & Kageyama Tobio & Tsukishima Kei & Yamaguchi Tadashi
• Karasuno Volleyball Club & Tsukishima Kei
AvailabilityCrunchyroll

General: I’ve adored the Karasuno first years since I first watched Haikyuu!! back in 2016. If I had to choose, my bias would be Tsukishima, but I love all of them, especially getting to see them interact with each other! I love their friendship and getting to see how it grows. Whether it’s the first years having fun, something sentimental/nostalgic, or just getting to see them talking with each other, I’d love all of it. If you’d like to take a more Tsukishima-centric fic and his relationships with the Karasuno team (and how he grows to enjoy them and volleyball) that would be perfect too!

Art: As far as art goes, I’d love anything with the characters! I’d love to see them in casual clothes/hanging out outside of volleyball! I also adore when artists lean into the the concept of flying (and all the other visual symbolism that the show uses!)

Julie and the Phantoms
MediumFic
Relationships• Ray Molina & Reggie Peters
• Alex Mercer & Luke Patterson & Ray Molina & Reggie Peters
• Carlos Molina & Ray Molina & Reggie Peters
AvailabilityNetflix

This show was one of my favorites of last year, and it’s a pity that it’s not getting a second season (it also almost single-handedly fueled my creative muse for both Yuletide and Chocobox last year). I absolutely loved having a show canonically focused on found family and friendship!

This is another example of my requested relationships definitely showing a singular character bias. I love Ray in the show, and I’m a bit sad we’re never going to get to see a canon reveal/reaction to the phantoms. If you’d like to focus on all of the phantoms, instead of just Ray & Reggie, I’d love to see Ray interacting with all three of them and bringing them into Molina-family fold.

The show also implies that Reggie’s homelife might not have been great and he spends a lot of time with the Ray and Carlos throughout the show, even though they can’t see/hear him. I think exploring that relationship would be super interesting! (I’m also a bit sad that the Carlos ghost reveal is implied to be off camera, and now we’re never going to see it).

I’d prefer that the boys stayed ghosts in whatever you create (rather than it being a Human AU or having some magic deus ex machina that makes them human again).

Teen Wolf
MediumFic
Relationships• Scott McCall & Stiles Stilinski
• Isaac Lahey & Melissa McCall & Scott McCall
• Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski
AvailabilityHulu or Amazon Prime

It’s 2022, and I guess it’s time to stop pretending that I’m over my teenage Teen Wolf phase, because here we are. I think that the core of this show, at its best, was about the relationships between the characters. My favorite character is Stiles, because (as demonstrated in other fandoms), I love the “normal/ordinary/human” character in these types of shows.

I’ve always considered the “heart” of the show to be the friendship between Scott & Stiles, and I’d love to see that explored more – either in post-canon or missing scenes from the show!

As far as Isaac Lahey & Melissa McCall & Scott McCall go, I’d really love to see an exploration of the time when Isaac was living with the McCalls (especially considering he was still processing being turned into a werewolf and his abusive childhood).

And now, Stiles/Derek, the only romantic pairing I’ve requested this year. For me, I think that the Sterek fics I enjoy the most are about trust, communication, and vulnerability. It’s about the two of them coming to understand each other. Whatever form that takes in fic, I’d be happy with.

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures
CharactersAny (Cassandra Cain, Dick Grayson, Duke Thomas, Jason Todd, Stephanie Brown, Tim Drake)
AvailabilityWebtoon

I’ve always had a passing interest in BatFam, since I’m always looking for more canon found family fandoms, but I’ve never known where to start with the comics (and traditional comics-based media also seems more interested in the “vigilante/superhero” aspects, for obvious reasons). This easily digestible, free webtoon was exactly what I never knew I needed.

I absolutely love the perspective of this webcomic! Seeing all of the characters outside of the traditional superhero action, and instead, being able to see behind the scenes and having them deal with “normal” life is such a fun concept! I especially love the relationships between the characters—getting to see most of the characters interact in Favoritism (Ep. 6) and Vigilante Bingo (Ep. 7) is a lot of fun, but the (at the time of writing) current arc with Duke and his crush, where we delve into particular character dynamics (Duke & Dick; Duke & Stephanie) is also great!

I really love all the kids in the family (and the addition of perpetually tired father, Bruce Wayne/Batman, is the cherry on top). I honestly can’t choose a favorite character! I’d love to see a fic explore more of their relationships with each other and how they navigate their family dynamic. Duke moving into the manor is a big change—it would be interesting to see how they all adjusted. I think I’d prefer a fic that focuses on the entire ensemble or the relationship(s) between a subset of characters rather than a singular character exploration, because all the characters play off each other so well and it’s just a good time to see them interact.

Finally, I love the humor in the webcomic—the best way to describe it is that it’s just a lot of fun. I’m smiling the entire time I’m reading it! That being said, I’d love a fic that digs a bit deeper into their lives—being a vigilante is stressful, and that’s not even considering that they have to both work and live with their family/co-workers (and keep up with their day-to-day non-super lives too!)

An Addendum: My Knowledge of DC Comics Canon(s):
I know that some authors may want to integrate fun easter eggs or references to other DC Comics material, so I thought it may be nice to give a bit of background on my canonical DC knowledge, if you’re one of those people (but 100% feel free to ignore the following paragraph, if you’re not!)

I was kind of obsessed with the original run of Young Justice cartoon and have been using that has the backbone of all my DC knowledge ever since. (My favorite character was Dick Grayson, if that helps). I still haven’t watched season 3 (and now 4?) or have read any of the YJ comics, though. I’ve seen bits and pieces of other various DC animated cartoons, movies, and CW television shows, but nothing in-depth enough worth commenting on. I’ve only seen one DCEU movie in its entirety. (It was Shazam, which I loved). I read the Batwoman comic for a college class half a decade ago, but the only other comics knowledge I have is the big stuff that trends on social media. Finally, my DC “fanon” knowledge is mostly pulled from “all media types” fanfic and thePandaRedd’s TikTok skit compilations.

Ghosts (TV 2019)
CharactersMike (Ghosts TV 2019)
AvailabilityHBOMax (USA); BBC iPlayer (UK)

Ghosts has been a show that’s popped up here and there on my social media for the last couple years, and I’m so glad that I finally made time to watch it. This also marks second year in a row that I’m requesting a found family television show with ghosts (following Julie and the Phantoms in 2020).

While everyone in the show is great, I requested Mike because I think he’s such a wonderful (and sometimes underutilized) character. I adore his relationship with Alison – she has near-death experience, starts seeing ghosts, and Mike just goes with it. There’s no question in his eyes that they’re in this together, even if that means owning a money pit of a house that haunted by ghosts that only his wife can see.

I also love his relationships with the ghosts and would love to see that explored more. I’d especially love to explore how he learns to live with, communicate, and negotiate his relationship(s) with housemates he can’t see or hear. (It’s also an absolute shame that his “ghost board” is such a throwaway detail in the show!)

I’ve specifically requested only Mike, because I love all the other characters and didn’t want to influence or force you write about a certain subset of characters. Feel free to take this request in any direction you’d like regarding whom you want Mike to interact with!

As far as thematic elements to pull from the show, I think that it does an exemplary job at balancing humor and heartfelt moments. I also appreciate that all the characters are complex ghosts/human beings—they’re not necessarily good people, but they’re not irredeemable either. It’s a show about friendship and time and memory and kindness. It’s about a group of people who are thrown into an impossible situation and come out all the better for it. (And after the last couple years of everything that’s happened in real world, Ghosts was a story I needed this year).

Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

Hello Chocolatier!

Thank you so much for spending time creating something for me. I’ve broken this letter down into general likes/dislikes, and then a short section on each fandom (which was copied into the prompt section of my sign-up).

The letter doesn’t cover everything that I like (My AO3 bookmarks may give you more ideas, but I’ve been meaning to update them because they’re currently a mess) and please don’t feel pressured to fit your creation to everything I like!

Thanks so much again for creating something for me! I’m so excited to see what you make!

Side Note: Historically, I’ve been uh... Terrible at actually reading exchange fics for months or even years after the fact. So, if I don’t leave kudos/comments right away, it’s not you, it’s most definitely me. At one point I was three years and nearly a dozen fics behind before I finally forced myself to catch-up at the end of 2020. While I’m currently caught up, my current record is three years between reveals and reading/writing a comment for my gift fic. I promise you a comment is coming, it just just take some time to arrive.

(Note: Most of this letter was copied from previous exchanges I’ve participated in.)

General Do Not Wants:

- Graphic Violence (I'’m okay with post-violence or exploring the consequences/healing after violence, but I’d prefer not to have to read/see graphic depictions of said violence).
- Unhappy Endings (Angst is fine, though)
- Asphyxiation/beheading/violent neck stuff
- Permanent Non-Canon Character Death (Characters who are dead in canon are fair game, though).
- PWP/porn-without-plot (This is the first time since I first started participating in exchanges that I haven’t just outright DNW’d all explicit sex, so please wield this power responsibly).
- Infidelity/cheating (I’m okay with poly, consensual non-monogamy, or rumors of cheating from an outside source (e.g. the media), though).

This one’s pretty subjective, but if we could stay away from overwhelming sadness and melancholy that would be great too., 2020 was a long year and it looks like the start of 2021 is joining it. For this reason, I’d also prefer not to receive dystopian/apocalypse AUs.

Sex-Related DNWs
Again, this is the first time I haven’t DNW’d all explicit sex, so please bear with me. Because I’m still trying to figure this section out, I’ve made my DNWs a bit broad to cover my bases. I figured since this was a relationship-focused exchange, this would work as a test run (even if most of the relationships I requested are platonic). None of my prompts are sex-related, and I’d prefer a fic where sex isn’t the main focus.

- Incest
- Underage
- Rape/Non-Con/Dub-Con
- Scat/Watersports/etc.: Tbh depictions of most bodily fluids are a bit squicky for me.
- Any act that draws blood (e.g. harsh caning, bloodplay)
- Fearplay/Gunplay
- Cannibalism/Vore
- Petplay
- Asphyxiation/Breathplay
- Humiliation/Degradation

General Things I Like:
Below are a few themes/tropes that I like that can be applied to any fandom. I read and enjoy a lot of fic, so I’ve tried to condense this into my core favorites. In general, I’m more interested in specific characters, character/relationship interactions, and themes, rather than the exact plot/AU, which is why I don’t have a ton of specific prompts in my letter.

Trust – I love content that focus on the trust and building of trust between two (or more) characters. People accepting the unconditional love and trust of another person and realizing it’s real is one of my favorite things. I don’t know if I can fully articulate how much I love of the emphasis of trust within fics – almost every other theme/trope on this list stems from trust.

Communication – I really love this theme. People talking out their issues and trusting each other with their entire being, just gives me the all the feels. I especially love when people have to deal with their (and each other’s) insecurities and have to be vulnerable to each other.

Relationship Negotiation – I really love characters having to figure out their relationships (both platonic and romantic), especially when they have to navigate an uneven power dynamic (e.g. famous/not famous AU, class differences, etc.). This category can also include kink negotiation. I just really love characters talking to each other and being vulnerable with each other.

Emotional Hurt/Comfort – This goes hand-in-hand with my love of fics exploring healthy communication. I love the intimacy of emotional hurt/comfort and that it forces characters to trust and be vulnerable with each other.

Fandom Specific:
Honestly, if you cover any of the themes above, I’ll be delighted, but I’ve added specific information below for each of the fandoms I requested. They're in alphabetical order by fandom, not order of preference (if we’ve matched on multiple fandoms). Additionally, I’m writing this letter after watching way too much news/doomscrolling through twitter about USA politics, so if they’re a bit incoherent, that’s why.

Final Fantasy XV:
I should start this section off by saying that I’ve never played this game in my life. I’ve seen parts of it played online and the Prompto DLC in full, but my familiarity of the canon is almost solely on the Brotherhood anime and fandom osmosis on social media. That being said, I absolutely adore these characters! Because of my lack of canon knowledge, I generally prefer fics set pre-game if set in canon (but feel free to do an AU, I'm not that picky. I love FFXV for the character interactions, rather than any specific setting/plot).

My favorite character is Prompto, so do with that what you will! I love exploring the relationship between all the chocobros, especially how Prompto integrates himself into the established trio of Gladio, Noctis, and Ignis (especially considering his “non-royal” upbringing, including financial and class differences). This can also focus on his relationship with any one of Gladio, Noctis, and Ignis. I also would love a fic exploring Prompto gaining Gladio and/or Ignis’ trust after befriending Noctis.

I also really love fics that explore MT!Prompto.

I have no strong affiliation/feelings about any of the ships within the four chocobros, so feel free to include any (or none) of them in the background, but I’d like the focus to be on the platonic relationship(s) between them.
I have no strong affiliation/feelings about any of the ships within the four chocobros, so feel free to include any (or none) of them.

Julie and the Phantoms:

This show was a great quarantine watch! I love the themes of found family and friendship in the show (ofc).

One thing that I’d really love to see explored is the relationship between Ray and Reggie. I feel like I'm always on the lookout for content that explores what would happen if Ray knew the truth about the Phantoms. The show implies that Reggie’s homelife might not have been great and he spends a lot of time with the Ray (and Carlos) throughout the show, even though they can’t see/hear him. I’d love to read about a ghost reveal or development of a familial relationship between the two of them.

I love all the characters and the friendships between the teenagers. I’d be happy to have all of them get to know each other, explore what happens post-season 1, or deepening their friendships. I don’t have strong feelings about the ships, so feel free to include in the background (although, I’d like the fic to focus on platonic relationships between the characters).

I’d prefer that the boys stayed ghosts in whatever you create (rather than it being a Human AU or having some magic deus ex machina that makes them human again).

Schitt’s Creek:
I absolutely adore this show and all of the characters! I’d love to explore the class differences between the Roses and the people of Schitt’s Creek (in either an AU or canon-verse). I’d love to see them bonding as a family or friends. I’d especially love to explore what it’s like for the Rose’s to be surrounded by people who actually like them (rather than just their money, etc). Also, of course, I’d love to explore them bonding as a family (and continually learning what it means to be a family).

If you’re interested in writing David/Patrick, I think exploring their differences in people and strengths as a couple is really fun (especially when combined with any of the themes above!)

White Collar:
I haven’t watched this show in a while (probably since they took it off Netflix), but I tuned into this show almost every week when it was airing.

Like I mentioned above, I am obsessed with things that explore the concept of trust and this canon is ripe for it. I’d really love a fic exploring the trust and creation of trust between Peter and Neal (and Elizabeth). Not to mention having to navigate the power dynamics between Neal and those around him while he's on work release.

Hello Author!

Thank you so much for spending time creating something for me. I’ve broken this letter down into general likes/dislikes, and then a short section on each fandom.

Also, historically, I’ve been uhh…. Terrible at actually reading exchange fics for months or even years after the fact. So, if I don’t leave kudos/comments right away, it’s not you, it’s most definitely me.

(Note: Most of this letter was copied from previous exchanges I’ve participated in.)

Do Not Wants:
I think that these are pretty self-explanatory:

Rape/Non-con
Graphic Violence
PWP/Explicit Sex
Incest
Unhappy Endings (Angst is fine, though)
Non-Canonical Character Death (Characters who are dead in canon are fair game).

This one’s pretty subjective, but if we could stay away from overwhelming sadness and melancholy that would be great too. (Look, 2020’s been a long year).

Additionally, feel free to have the other characters pop up in the fic! (I’d also love to further explore the Reggie & Carlos dynamic or Ray and the rest of the Phantoms!)

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts:
If you haven’t watched Kipo, I’d definitely suggest giving it a try if it sounds like something you’d be interested in (It’s available on Netflix). Also, a slight warning, this section contains spoilers for season 3 (which just came out in October!)

I’ve never done a request in this format before, but I’m just going to list a bunch of short unconnected ideas/prompts and you can pick and choose what suits your fancy. The final season was great, but also gave me a bunch of ideas! I’d be happy with any of the themes above, but if you want some more specificity, here you go:

An exploration of the “secondary character” trio consisting of Asher, Dahlia, and Troy. What are they up to when the main group are on their adventures? Are they good friends? Have they bonded with each other and mute community? We got a bit more development of them during season 3, but I think there’s still a lot to explore within they’re dynamic! (And feel free to have Benson/Troy in the background if you go with this prompt!)

Post-Canon shenanigans about how everything is going five-years later. The world’s changed a lot in the epilogue – what were the ups and downs of getting there?

A further exploration of Hugo’s place in the Oak family (Feel free to go in any time period for this including: pre-canon, in between seasons, or an “Everyone Lives” AU). I’d especially love a further look into the sibling relationship that develops between Kipo and Hugo (considering season 3 didn’t give us a lot of time for that in between everything else it had to cover). If you’d also like to touch on the relationship between Wolf and Oak Family (and Wolf’s relationship with Hugo in S3) that would be cool too!

Shazam!:
I don’t think I’ve ever requested the same fandom two years in a row for Yuletide, especially with the exact same prompt, but I absolutely adore this movie! If it wasn’t obvious from the themes above, I love, love the found family aspect of Shazam!. I’d really love a fic where Billy is learning to trust his foster family. The superheroics are great, but I love the dynamics between the kids (and Victor and Rosa!) even more. Billy accepting that his place in his new family is unconditional would be amazing!

Rape/Non-con
Graphic Violence
PWP/Explicit Sex
Apocalypse/Post-Apocalypse AU
Incest
Unhappy Endings (Angst is fine, though)
Character Death

General Things I Like:

Below are a few themes/tropes that I like that can be applied to any fandom (and, as you’ll see, make it pretty obvious why I asked for the fandoms I did).

Platonic Relationships – I love friendship. Gen fics are my jam. I’m always a sucker for platonic cuddling, hair ruffling, and just people being protective/supportive of each other. Hair ruffling and forehead kisses are like my ultimate weakness. I also love friends feeling comfortable sharing their vulnerabilities and trusting each other.

Happy Endings
– I just want them to be happy in the end. I can take angst (and I especially love Emotional Hurt/Comfort), but I really need happy endings for the characters.

Protective/Supportive Friends – I love friends defending each other and supporting each other no matter what. Characters finding, building, and accepting unconditional friendship is wonderful.

Fandom Specific:

Honestly, if you cover any of the themes above, I’ll be delighted, but I’ve added specific information below for each of the fandoms I requested.

Shazam!:

I absolutely love this movie – between this and Spiderverse, my love of superhero movies has reignited this past year. If it wasn’t  obvious from the themes above, I love, love the Found Family aspect of Shazam!. I’d really love a fic where Billy is learning to trust his foster family. The superheroics are great, but I love the dynamics between the kids (and Victor and Rosa!) even more.

Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse:

I really, really want a Miles and Ganke friendship fic. (for reference, I haven’t seen the BluRay Alternate Cut of the movie, which supposedly has more Ganke and Miles. That being said, I don’t mind spoilers). Feel free to have other (spider)people appear, but I’d really love a fic focused on Ganke and Miles’ friendship, especially post-movie.

13 Reasons Why:

To be completely honest with you, I’ve never read the book nor have I watched the Netflix series. I, in fact, know very little about the actual canon of 13 Reasons Why. What I do know, is that I saw gifsets of Justin getting adopted by the Jensens, watched a couple YouTube compilation videos, and then read a bunch of fic with the platonic “Clay Jensen & Justin Foley” AO3 tag.

I think anything with the above themes dealing with the two of them navigating their friendship and new brotherhood would be fantastic.

Happy Endings – I just want them to be happy in the end. I can take angst (and I especially love Emotional Hurt/Comfort), but I really need happy endings for the characters.

AUs/Tropes I Like:

Breakfast Club AU – I feel like I’ve read every Breakfast Club AU in every fandom that I’m in (and even a couple in fandoms I’m not in). (For context, Breakfast Club is a 1980s movies about 5 very different kids that get detention and by the end of the day become friends with each other) I love this for the same reason I love the “families of choice” theme – a bunch of misfit kids finding family in each other.

Famous/Not Famous AUs – I really love when one person is famous/rich and the other isn’t and they have to navigate their relationship amongst this. This connects into the theme of trust and communication that I mentioned earlier. At one point I wrote this really long thing on tumblr about it.

Protective/Supportive Friends – I love friends defending each other and supporting each other no matter what. Characters finding, building, and accepting unconditional friendship is wonderful.

Dragon Prince:

I’d love a fic about Runann and Gren becoming really great friends (like… Ride or Die kind of friends). Gren just wears his dungeon companion down bit by bit, until one day Runaan hates all humans, except one. I’d love to see an exploration of the trust and communication between them. (Additionally, if you’d like to make this one pre-Gren/Runaan or slow burn Gren/Runaan, I’d be fine with that).

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017):

I’d really love to see what happens to the four of them after the movie, and they have to go back to school. They’ve been on a life-changing, fantastical, bonding adventure, but the rest of the school doesn’t know that. They just see four people who’ve never really had positive interactions suddenly becoming friends. I really like the idea that somehow almost dying in a video game, isn’t as hard as going back to school and dealing with the social implications and changes of the four of them becoming friends. I’d love to see the protective/supportive friends trope!

Sky High:

At this point in this letter, would you really be surprised if I was asking for another friendship fic? I’d love a post-movie fic about them being/becoming more comfortable in their friendship (and the rest of their Sky High friends). I don’t really care if it’s directly post-movie, or a few years after they graduate high school. I think I would prefer it if the fic revolved around their more mundane civilian lives, rather than their superhero identities.

(Additionally, feel free to have any combination of Will, Warren, Layla in a ship in the background).

Families of Choice/Found Family/Team as Family – This is pretty much my favorite trope of all time. People choosing to be each other’s families and just platonically loving each other is my favorite thing in the entire world.

Trust – I love fics that focus on the trust and building of trust between two (or more) characters. People accepting the unconditional love and trust of another person and realizing it’s real is one of my favorite things.

Protective/Supportive Friends – I love friends defending each other and supporting each other no matter what. Characters finding, building, and accepting unconditional friendship is wonderful.

If none of these float your boat – I also like band AUs, mundane magic AUs, and characters all having to be roommates with each other.

DNWs:

I feel like most of these are pretty self-explanatory:

  • Rape/Non-con
  • Incest
  • Character Death
  • PWP/Explicit Sex
  • Graphic Violence
  • Unhappy Endings (Feel free to include some angst, but please, please let the fic end happy).

Haikyuu!! Specific:

I love pretty much every single character in Haikyuu!! I don’t even have an OTP because I think that almost every ship is great and wonderful on their own merits I love Captain Squad and Setter Squad and every single team dynamic in the show. Some other favorite groups of mine are the Karasuno First Years (who are my favorite!) and the Second Gen Captain Squad. If you chose to write about any of these characters/groups, I’d be happy.

Honestly though, every character/relationship dynamic in the series is gold.

I had a really hard time trying to pick characters for this because I literally kept changing my mind, but here are some that I like:

Karasuno First Years: I love the Karasuno First Years in every combination. I’d really love a fic where they’re just interacting in some way. It could be canon or post-canon or an alternate universe – I just really love the five of them and their relationships with each other. I think especially as they spend more time together that they would have a really great friendship. (Feel free to put ships in, I’d just also like to request all of them interacting somehow.) I’m also Karasuno trash, so if you want to put cameos from the rest of the team, that would be great too!

Second Gen Caps: I sometimes forget how much I love the Second Gen Captains, because I read so much Captain Squad, but the interactions between the Second Gens is always portrayed so well. This is kind of similar to this entire letter in which, I just want to see them hanging out and being friends with each other.

Setter Squad: I really love the idea of setter squad interacting with each other. I especially like interactions between Kenma, Akaashi, Oikawa, and Suga. I think that all four characters play off each other really well. (I also love the rest of the setters in HQ!! (especially Moniwa), so feel free to include them too!)

Team-fic in general really floats my boat – especially when we get to see how they work together, and why each team makes such a good team. Karasuno is probably my favorite team, but I have soft spots for all of them, especially Nekoma, Fukurodani, and Datekou.

Also, feel free to include side-ships or background ships! I’m really not that picky about them!

Fandom Specific:

Below are the fandom specific remarks for each fandom. (Which are, coincidentally, every eligible fandom with an exclamation point in its name).

Haikyuu!!:

Haikyuu!! might be my favorite anime of the moment. I honestly love pretty much every single character in Haikyuu!! I don’t even have an OTP because I think that almost every ship is great and wonderful on their own merits. Trying to chose three characters was ridiculously impossible to do.

I love Captain Squad and Setter Squad and every single team dynamic in the show. Honestly, every character/relationship dynamic in the series is gold. Some other favorite groups of mine are the Karasuno First Years (who are my favorite!) and the Second Gen Captain Squad. If you chose to write about any of these characters/groups, I’d be happy.

In fact, I couldn’t decide who to chose, so I cheated a little and went with Karasuno Volleyball Club. My favorite character is Tsukishima (or really, any of the first years), but I love every single character on the team (even Kinoshita and Narita!) I’d love to see something exploring their friendships with each other. (I especially love the supportive/protective friends trope with Karasuno!)

Yuri!!! On Ice:

One of my favorite relationships to explore is friendship/familial bonds between Yuuri Katsuki and Yuri Plisetsky. I’m literally always looking for platonic Yuri(s) fic. I think that they have such an interesting relation within canon that can be expanded upon (or riffed on in AUs.) I really like them talking to each other, understanding each other, and becoming close.

(Feel free to add Victor in too!).

Free!:

Nitori has been my favorite Free! character since his first scene in the show. I’d love something that explored his relationship(s) with the rest of the characters in the show (especially Samezuka, but also Iwatobi).

The letter doesn’t cover everything that I like (My AO3 bookmarks may give you more ideas, but I’ve been meaning to update them because they’re currently a mess) and don’t feel pressured to fit your creation to what I like! Also if you want to take a prompt/concept and just run with it, feel free to do that too!

Thanks so much again for creating something for me!

General Themes I Like:

Platonic Relationships – I love friendship. I’m always a sucker for platonic cuddling, hair ruffling, and just people being protective/supportive of each other. Hair ruffling and forehead kisses are like my ultimate weakness.

Families of Choice – This is pretty much my favorite trope of all time. People choosing to be each other’s families and just platonically loving each other is my favorite thing in the entire world.

Trust/Communication – I really love this theme. People talking out their issues and trusting each other with their entire being, just gives me the all the feels. I especially love when people have to deal with their (and each other’s) insecurities and are supportive/protective of each other.

Happy Endings: I just want them to be happy in the end. I can take angst (and I especially love Emotional Hurt/Comfort), but I really need happy endings for the characters.

AUs/Tropes I Like:

Soulmate AUs – I’m a sucker for a good soulmate AU. I especially love the one where what you write on your skin also appears on your soulmate’s skin and soulmate identifying marks. (I also love, love Platonic Soulmate AUs, which are a lot less prevalent in fic)

Famous/Not Famous AUs – I really love when one person is famous/rich and the other isn’t and they have to navigate their relationship amongst this. A couple years ago I wrote up a really long thing about this AU on tumblr because someone asked for a different exchange. You can find it HERE.

Breakfast Club AU – I feel like I’ve read every Breakfast Club AU in every fandom that I’m in (and even a couple in fandoms I’m not in). I love this for the same reason I love “families of choice” theme – a bunch of misfit kids finding family in each other.

DNWs:
I feel like most of these are pretty self-explanatory:
  • Rape/Non-con
  • Incest
  • Character Death
  • PWP/Explicit Sex
  • Graphic Violence
  • Unhappy Endings (Feel free to include some angst, but please, please let the fic end happy).

Haikyuu!!:
I honestly love pretty much every single character in Haikyuu!! I don’t even have an OTP because I think that almost every ship is great and wonderful on their own merits. I love Captain Squad and Setter Squad and every single team dynamic in the show. Honestly, every character/relationship dynamic in the series is gold.

I had a really hard time trying to pick characters for this because I literally kept changing my mind, but I kind of broke it down into two groups based on things that I haven’t really requested before but I entirely love:

Karasuno First Years: I love the Karasuno First Years in every combination. I’d really love a fic where they’re just interacting in some way. It could be canon or post-canon or an alternate universe – I just really love the five of them and their relationships with each other. I think especially as they spend more time together that they would have a really great friendship. (Feel free to put ships in, I’d just also like to request all of them interacting somehow.) I’m also Karasuno trash, so if you want to put cameos from the rest of the team, that would be great too!

Second Gen Caps: I sometimes forget how much I love the Second Gen Captains, because I read so much normal Captain Squad, but the interactions between the Second Gens is always portrayed so well. This is kind of similar to this entire letter in which, I just want to see them hanging out and being friends with each other.

Yuri!!! On Ice:
One of my favorite relationships to explore is friendship/familial bonds between Yuuri Katsuki and Yuri Plisetsky. I’m literally always looking for platonic Yuri(s) fic. (Feel free to add Victor in too!).

Yowamushi Pedal:
I love Sohuko (and to a lesser extent Hakone) and their relationships with each other. I especially love friendship between the first years (including Sugimoto!). My fave ship (and first sports anime OTP) was Teshima/Aoyagi, so anything with them is also really good. I think that all the relationships between the Sohoku team are interesting (including the graduated third years).

The only person I really don’t like is Midousuji (mostly because he creeps me out… most of Kyoto Fushimi creep me out a little, with the exceptions of Ishigaki and Yama because they’re awesome).

Kuroko:
My favorite ships in Kuroko are KiKasa and AkaFuri. I especially love Kasamatsu being totally and completely unimpressed with Kise, but like also lowkey kind of in love with him. I think that the two of them have a really interesting relationship dynamic and would love to see something delving into their insecurities. I also love AkaFuri, especially in how they sort of their power dynamic and also their insecurities. I think that Akashi and Furihata just play off of each other really well and you can end up with something that is really fluffy and sweet, but also has a good balance of humor.

I’d also love to see any creation that has a reconciled Generation of Miracles and them just hanging out and being friends (or at least attempting to be friends). My favorite episode of KnB is the OVA where they play basketball together and this easy sense of normalcy is reached again. I think that there’s some really interesting relationships to explore in the GoM.

Hello Author! Thanks so much for taking the time and effort into writing my Yuletide fic this year! (Also for reading this letter… which may get a little bit long).

(Also, I apologize for the lack of information in optional details… I may have forgotten about sign-ups until the day they closed…)

This letter certainly doesn’t cover everything I like, and don’t feel forced to exactly follow any of my prompts or try to fit everything in!

Royal Tutor:

I don’t think I have to repeat this, but I really, really don’t want incest between the brothers. I’d also like to request that none of them be in a romantic/sexual relationship with Heine. (I’d also prefer that Bruno doesn’t call Heine “Master”).

Out of all of my requests, this is the fandom that I would most want to have a mostly platonic fic. I really just want a fic where the brothers are supportive/protective of each other, preferably with lots of family feels and/or fluff.

Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note:

This was a show I never expected to watch, but then ended up binging in one night (The 10 minute episodes really help with that).

The show as always been more about the relationship between the characters, rather than them solving the mysteries. I’d love to see a high school or college AU of the show. One of my favorite parts of the show is how supportive the boys are of Aya (and the reactions of her classmates that she somehow knows these really popular guys). I really love how all their strengths complement each other and how much of a team they are.

Fune wo Amu:

I’ve been in love with this dictionary anime since it came out last year.

I’d really love a fic that focuses on the (platonic) relationship between Nishioka and Majime. I also really love the relationship between them and the entire dictionary-making team. I especially love how all of them found a place that they belong.
